Connor Gravelle
Hi, my name is Connor Gravelle. I am a forward facing, interdisciplinary visual communicator, with experience in UI Design, Brand Strategy, as well as Motion Graphics Design. I am an extraordinarily hard worker, with high capacity for extracting, exploring, and executing upon problems put in front of me.
In developing the website you are viewing now, I worked extensively with a small team of my fellow students, and explored means of displaying work that allowed for clear, expansive looks into the 16 graduating VCD thesis projects.

Caya Tull
Hi I’m Caya! I’m a NYC based designer and illustrator. As a multidisciplinary designer I love all aspects of design from creating visuals to the behind the scenes aspects of marketing and copywriting. I love the ability design gives me to solve problems and build concepts from the ground up.

Jillian Maraj
Jillian is an interdisciplinary designer and printmaker from Connecticut. She has had a love for art ever since she was a child and started teaching herself various artistic skills from a young age. This eventually led to her finding a passion for graphic design and printmaking. As a designer, Jillian loves doing everything from visual branding to UI design and prides herself on being able to come up with creative and unique design solutions. She is very inspired by how design shapes the way we view and interact with the world around us, which fuels her passion for what she creates.

Sierra Marguerite
Sierra Marguerite is a recent graduate of the Hartford Art school class of 2021. She is a double major in Visual Communication Design and photography with a minor in Art History. The love for image and type is what has driven her passion to major in both design and photography.
The connection of photography and design is what drives the powerful imagery and design of current work Titled As You Were As You Are, an exhibition on women’s body empowerment. Interviewing women to discuss their personal struggles and using photography to create powerful images to help these women feel more beautiful and strong. Her dream career is to go into exhibition design combining the love for history of art, photography and design.

Tatianna Lynn
Meet Tatianna Lynn. Tatianna is a Visual Communication Designer from Prospect, CT. She received her BFA, in 2021 at the University of Hartford. Since she was young she has had a desire to create. She has always been a creative thinker and problem solver. Her work focuses on creating clean and professional designs. In addition to, having a strong focus on the relationship between typography and photography.

Francesca Antonia Biceglia
Meet Francesca. Francesca is a recent graduate from the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford, and she received her BFA in Visual Communication Design.She has done freelance designs for small companies during her education, but as a recent graduate she is eager to gain even more experience and knowledge in the field. She absorbs new information and new ways of perfecting her work, especially with her clients; designing to meet and even excel past their desires. Francesca is from North Haven, CT and always had a passion for art from a very young age and effortlessly incorporated it into everything she did. She then channeled that love and talent of drawing and painting, along with a creative eye for everything around her into designing. She has a strong appreciation for brand identity and making a brand tailored to everybody through clean and sophisticated designs, filled with color and life.

Ray Talbot
Meet Ray Talbot. Ray is a Connecticut native who fell in love with design when he took his first graphics class in high school. Since then, he has made projects using simple yet bold designs, with an eye for incorporating various aspects of pop culture. Besides design, Ray is learning skills in photography and motion graphics to expand his portfolio as well as his opportunities.

Jacqueline Flock
Hi, I am Jacqueline I am a senior VCD major from Glastonbury, CT. I have always been a creative and conceptual thinker and love to draw and I continue to enhance my skills. I visually communicate with logos, text layout, and purposeful design systems. I enjoy solving problems by visually displaying complex material comprehensively and minimally. I have been experimenting more with motion graphics and enjoy telling stories through video.

Symia Hayes
Symia Hayes is a graduate from University of Hartford, she majored in visual communication design while also minoring in marketing. Acquiring a background in both fields was important to Symia because it allowed her to see advertisements from both a creative and business perspective. Since attending the University has helped Symia has been able to combine both her passions while working to perfect her craft.
